Production Supervisor/ Shift Supervisor

We are looking for experienced and hands-on Production Supervisors to manage the Rubber Moulding section at a manufacturing facility in Bhiwadi. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in rubber compression moulding and vulcanization processes , along with the ability to manage shop-floor operations, manpower, production targets, quality, and machine performance. Experience in rubber footwear soles, soling sheets, or other rubber products will be highly preferred. Candidates with relevant compression moulding experience from industries such as automotive components, industrial rubber products, or polymer manufacturing are also encouraged to apply. Key ResponsibilitiesProduction & Operations - Plan, allocate, and execute daily shift production activities to achieve production, yield, and delivery targets. - Supervise rubber sole and rubber sheet production processes. - Ensure smooth and safe operation of: - Hydraulic Compression Presses - Kneaders - Two-Roll Mixing Mills - Calenders - Monitor critical moulding and curing parameters such as curing time, platen temperature, hydraulic pressure, and breathing cycles. - Ensure optimum machine utilization and production efficiency. Quality & Material Management - Monitor the handling and processing of coloured rubber compounds. - Ensure proper line clearance to prevent cross-contamination, shade variation, and discoloration . - Ensure proper storage and FIFO utilization of mixed rubber compounds. - Monitor compound shelf life and scorch time to prevent material-related defects. - Track and control flash, trimming waste, scrap, and defective production. - Take corrective action to reduce rejection and material wastage. Process Troubleshooting - Identify and resolve rubber moulding defects during production, including: - Under-cure - Over-cure - Air traps - Porosity - Flow lines - Blistering - Surface defects - Monitor mould loading and unloading procedures. - Ensure proper mould cleaning and release-agent application. - Coordinate with the maintenance team during mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic breakdowns. - Conduct basic machine and equipment checks to minimize downtime. Manpower Management - Supervise operators, workers, and helpers during the assigned shift. - Allocate manpower according to production requirements. - Monitor attendance, discipline, productivity, and work allocation. - Train and guide shop-floor workers on production procedures and safety practices. - Maintain effective communication between production, quality, maintenance, and other departments. Documentation & Reporting - Maintain daily shift production reports and production logs. - Record rejection, scrap, wastage, downtime, and other production parameters. - Maintain attendance and manpower records. - Enter production-related information into ERP or other reporting systems where required. - Communicate shift performance, issues, and pending activities to the reporting manager. Safety, EHS & 5S - Ensure strict compliance with workplace safety procedures. - Monitor proper use of PPE on the shop floor. - Ensure adherence to heat-safety requirements in the production area. - Maintain 5S standards and overall shop-floor housekeeping. - Report and address unsafe working conditions immediately. Required Qualifications - Diploma or Degree in Rubber Technology, Plastics Processing, Polymer Science, Mechanical Engineering , or a related technical discipline is preferred. - Candidates with Higher Secondary education and strong practical experience may also be considered. Required Experience - 3–6 years of supervisory experience in rubber compression moulding. - Strong hands-on experience with rubber moulding and vulcanization processes. - Experience in rubber footwear sole or rubber sheet manufacturing is highly preferred. - Candidates from other rubber manufacturing sectors such as automotive components or industrial rubber products with strong compression moulding experience are also welcome. Essential Technical Skills - Strong understanding of rubber compression moulding and vulcanization . - Hands-on experience with: - Hydraulic Compression Presses - Kneaders - Two-Roll Mixing Mills - Calenders - Knowledge of moulding parameters and process control. - Ability to troubleshoot common rubber moulding defects. - Understanding of compound handling, storage, FIFO, and shelf-life requirements. - Knowledge of coloured rubber compound handling and contamination control is preferred. - Knowledge of rubber compound colour matching is an added advantage. Soft Skills - Strong shop-floor leadership and manpower-handling skills. - Good communication and coordination abilities. - Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. - Ability to work under production pressure and achieve shift targets. - Strong focus on quality, productivity, and waste reduction. - Basic knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, or ERP systems . Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) - Achievement of daily and weekly production targets. - Reduction in scrap, rejection, and trimming waste. - Reduction in operational machine downtime. - Effective utilization of manpower and machinery. - Zero contamination in coloured rubber compound batches. - Reduction in production defects. - Compliance with EHS and 5S standards. - Improvement in overall shift productivity and quality.
