Sr. Chemist For Food Plant - Raipur , Chhattisgarh

Job Description: A Senior (Sr.) Chemist in a food plant ensures product safety, quality, and regulatory compliance by leading laboratory testing, developing food formulations, and analyzing raw materials/finished products using methods like HPLC and GC-MS. They mentor junior staff, troubleshoot production issues, and oversee QC documentation. Key Responsibilities - Quality Control & Analysis: Perform, analyze, and interpret tests on raw ingredients, in-process samples, and finished products. - Method Development & Validation: Develop and validate new analytical methods for food products. - Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all products meet safety standards (e.g., FDA, FSSAI) and internal quality specs. - Instrumentation: Calibrate and maintain lab equipment like HPLC, GC, and spectrophotometers. - Documentation: Maintain accurate laboratory records, LIMS data, and audit reports. - Mentorship: Provide guidance to lab technicians. Required Qualifications & Skills - Education: Master’s degree or PhD in Food Chemistry, Food Science, or Chemistry. - Experience: 3–6 years of experience in food analysis or quality control within a manufacturing setting. - Technical Skills: Proficient in food chemistry analysis techniques and data analysis software. - Knowledge: Strong understanding of food safety standards. Common Requirements for Raipur Location - Experience in oil extraction, analysis of raw materials, and physical refraction tests. - Proficiency with HPLC, GC, Autotitrator, and UV Spectrophotometer. - Familiarity with IS/ISO testing methods.
