We are currently seeking an experienced and qualified Laboratory Technician to be a core part of our diagnostic and pathology department. The Lab Technician will play a critical role in supporting the clinical team by performing a wide range of diagnostic tests, maintaining laboratory standards, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting of results that directly impact patient care and treatment decisions. Belgaum-Karnataka 591108 Google Map: https://maps.app.goo.gl/42r9emsH7Uazgmax6 Key Responsibilities :- - Collect biological samples including blood, urine, stool, sputum, and other specimens from patients in a safe, hygienic, and patient-friendly manner. - Perform a wide range of laboratory tests including hematology (CBC, ESR, bleeding time, clotting time), biochemistry (blood glucose, lipid profile, liver function tests, kidney function tests), microbiology, serology, and routine urine and stool analysis. - Operate, calibrate, and perform routine maintenance on all laboratory equipment including auto-analysers, centrifuges, microscopes, and other diagnostic instruments. - Ensure all test results are accurately entered, verified, and reported in a timely manner. - Maintain detailed records of all tests performed, reagents used, and equipment maintenance logs. - Ensure strict compliance with laboratory safety standards, infection control protocols, and biomedical waste management guidelines. - Monitor inventory of reagents, consumables, and laboratory supplies; raise purchase requests in a timely manner to avoid stockouts. - Coordinate with treating physicians, nursing staff, and the radiology department for integrated patient care. - Participate in internal and external quality control programs to maintain laboratory accuracy and reliability. - Support the Lab In-charge in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly test reports and workload summaries. - Maintain confidentiality of all patient information and diagnostic data at all times. - Stay updated with new diagnostic techniques, equipment updates, and laboratory best practices. Requirements DMLT (Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology) or BMLT (Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Technology) from a recognized institution. - Valid registration with the relevant state or national laboratory technician board (preferred) - Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on experience in a clinical laboratory, diagnostic centre, or hospital setup. - Proficiency in performing haematology, biochemistry, microbiology, and urine analysis tests independently. - Working knowledge of laboratory information systems (LIS) or basic computer skills for data entry and report generation. - Sound understanding of biosafety guidelines, infection control standards, and biomedical waste disposal protocols. - Ability to work efficiently under pressure, handle multiple samples simultaneously, and meet reporting deadlines. - Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. - Good interpersonal and communication skills in Kannada, Hindi, and/or English. - Willingness to work in shifts if required.
