Pre-Sales Consultant – Siemens Opcenter APS

Function: Pre-Sales / Solution Consulting Experience: 6–12 years of relevant experience; capability takes precedence Location: Hyderabad , India Travel: Customer-site travel as required Role summary The consultant will support sales opportunities for Siemens Opcenter Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS). The role involves understanding a manufacturer’s planning and scheduling challenges, shaping the proposed solution, conducting customer workshops and demonstrations, and contributing to proposals and delivery handover. The position requires strong manufacturing and solution-consulting competence; prior Opcenter APS experience is helpful but not essential. Key responsibilities •Engage with production planning, supply chain, operations and IT stakeholders to understand current processes, pain points and business priorities. •Translate customer requirements into a practical APS solution covering demand, capacity, materials, resources, constraints and production sequencing. •Prepare and deliver customer presentations, discovery workshops, product demonstrations and proof- of-concept scenarios. •Define the high-level solution architecture and integration needs across ERP, MES/MOM and related manufacturing systems. •Contribute to RFI/RFP responses, technical proposals, solution scope, assumptions, effort estimates and implementation roadmaps. •Explain the expected business value of APS using measures such as on-time delivery, schedule adherence, throughput, WIP, lead time and planner productivity. •Work closely with sales, product specialists and delivery teams, and ensure an accurate handover of agreed scope, risks and open items. •Explain the expected business value of APS using measures such as on-time delivery, schedule adherence, throughput, WIP, lead time and planner productivity. •Work closely with sales, product specialists and delivery teams, and ensure an accurate handover of agreed scope, risks and open items. Candidate Profile •6–12 years in manufacturing consulting, production planning, supply-chain solutions, enterprise software pre-sales or a closely related role. •Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Information Technology or a related discipline. •Strong customer orientation, professional judgement and willingness to learn Siemens Opcenter APS through structured enablement. Mandatory skillsets •Production planning and scheduling: good understanding of MPS, finite-capacity planning, bottlenecks, sequencing, changeovers, due dates and scheduled trade-offs. •Manufacturing processes: Ability to understand BOMs, routings, operations, resources, calendars, shifts, capacities, materials and alternate resources. •APS problem solving: Ability to analyze planning challenges and convert them into a feasible, constraint-based solution approach. •Consultative pre-sales: Experience in customer discovery, requirement workshops, solution presentations and handling business and technical questions. •Solution design: Ability to define solution scope, assumptions, risks, data needs and high-level integration with ERP and MES/MOM systems. •Demonstration and value communication: Ability to explain complex planning concepts clearly and connect solution capabilities to measurable customer outcomes. •Proposal support: Experience in contributing to RFI/RFP responses, technical proposals, estimates, scope documents and delivery handovers. •Communication and learning agility: Strong written and verbal English, analytical thinking, presentation skills and proven ability to learn complex enterprise software.
