Mainframes Iseries High Availability Specialist Bangalore, Karnataka, India Hyderabad, Telangana, India Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India Pune, Maharashtra, India Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India ( In person) The Role As a System Administrator at Kyndryl, you’ll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. You’ll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients – which means some of the biggest in the world. There’s never a typical day as a System Administrator at Kyndryl, because no two projects are alike. You’ll be managing systems data for clients and providing day-to-day solutions and security compliance. You’ll oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients. Key Responsibilities Support daily administration of HA/DR environments. Monitor replication health and investigate synchronization issues. Execute role swaps, planned failovers, and recovery procedures under established processes. Leads implementation and upgrades of HA software. Participate in disaster recovery testing activities. Perform journaling setup and replication configuration changes. Document procedures and update operational runbooks. Support incident resolution and root cause analysis activities. Providing coding support for role swap, IPL, and application restart automations. Support application and DBA teams in deployments to insure continued resiliency. Required Technical and Professional Expertise 5–8 years of IBM i (iSeries) administration experience with 2–4 years supporting High Availability (HA)/Disaster Recovery (DR) environments. Strong knowledge of MIMIX, journal management, replication administration, backup and recovery processes. Experience with IBM i system administration, CL commands, scripting, and troubleshooting production environments. Understanding of HA/DR concepts, networking, storage management, and system resilience. Experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2016/2019, VMware ESX, and public/private cloud environments, including on-premises to cloud migrations. Preferred Technical and Professional Experience Experience with automation tools and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices. Knowledge of vulnerability management, security controls, and compliance requirements. Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS). Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder management skills. Experience supporting mission-critical, high-availability enterprise environments.
