Job Description: Senior Engineer – FIA Projects Role Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer in Industrial Automation to lead installation, commissioning, and end-to-end project execution for automation systems. The role requires strong technical expertise, on-site leadership, and the ability to manage multiple projects while ensuring quality, safety, and timely delivery. Key Responsibilities 1. Project Execution & Management - Lead and manage automation projects from kickoff to commissioning and handover - Develop project timelines, resource plans, and execution strategies - Coordinate with cross-functional teams including design, procurement, and quality - Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation plans - Ensure projects are delivered within scope, budget, and schedule 2. Installation & Commissioning - Supervise installation of PLC, SCADA, DCS, HMI, drives, and field instrumentation - Ensure compliance with technical drawings, standards, and safety regulations - Lead system integration, loop checking, FAT (Factory Acceptance Test), and SAT (Site Acceptance Test) - Troubleshoot system issues during installation and commissioning phases 3. Technical Leadership - Provide guidance on automation architecture, control systems, and field devices - Review electrical schematics, panel designs, and control logic - Support programming and debugging of PLC/SCADA systems - Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices 4. Stakeholder Coordination - Act as primary point of contact for clients during project execution - Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and site teams - Conduct regular project review meetings and reporting 5. Documentation & Compliance - Prepare and review technical documentation including method statements, SOPs, and reports - Ensure all installations comply with safety, quality, and regulatory standards - Maintain accurate project records and as-built documentation 6. Team Management - Lead and mentor junior engineers and technicians - Allocate tasks and monitor team performance - Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement Required Qualifications - Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation Engineering (or related field) - 6–10+ years of experience in industrial automation, with strong exposure to project execution - Proven experience in installation and commissioning of automation systems Technical Skills - Hands-on experience with PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, etc.) - SCADA/HMI development and troubleshooting - Knowledge of DCS systems (preferred) - Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, etc.) - Ability to read and interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings - Experience with drives, sensors, and field instrumentation Soft Skills - Strong project management and organizational abilities - Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills - Effective communication and client-handling capability - Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects Additional Requirements - Willingness to travel frequently to project sites - Strong commitment to safety and quality standards Preferred Qualifications - PMP or equivalent project management certification (optional) - Experience in industries such as manufacturing, oil & gas, FMCG, or infrastructure - Exposure to Industry 4.0 / IoT-based automation systems Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) - On-time project delivery - Installation and commissioning quality - Customer satisfaction - Safety compliance - Budget adherence
