Senior Full Stack Developer

We’re looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer with deep hands-on experience in building secure, scalable healthcare software. In this role, you will take ownership of the design, development and delivery of enterprise-grade applications on our healthcare technology platforms. This is an ideal role for an experienced engineer who can drive technical decisions, own complex integrations and deliver production-quality solutions across a full-stack environment spanning modern web technologies, cloud infrastructure and healthcare data standards Responsibilities - Design and develop robust full-stack applications using Next.js, React, TypeScript and Firebase/Google Cloud services. - Take ownership of end-to-end feature delivery: from architecture decisions and design through to production deployment. - Build and maintain FHIR-compliant integrations with Google Cloud Healthcare API, including resource operations, data sync pipelines and streaming exports to BigQuery. - Work on secure, role-based access control (RBAC) across Next.js middleware, Firebase Security Rules, and Firebase Functions. - Develop and maintain Firebase Functions for serverless backend logic, Firestore triggers, Pub/Sub subscribers and scheduled jobs. - Ensure data integrity across Firestore and FHIR datastores, including pipelines to BigQuery for analytics and reporting. - Integrate and maintain AI/ML workflows using Google Genkit and Gemini AI, with strict attention to data privacy and PHI handling. - Monitor application health using GCP Cloud Logging, Error Reporting and Cloud Trace; investigate and resolve production issues proactively. - Conduct thorough code reviews and contribute to engineering standards, patterns and best practices. - Write and maintain automated tests including E2E tests using Playwright to ensure software quality across multiple user roles. - Work closely with cross-functional teams including Product, QA and Operations to support smooth project execution. - Contribute to continuous integration and deployment processes (CI/CD) to improve development and release efficiency. - Ensure all development adheres to HIPAA compliance requirements and healthcare data security standards; maintain up-to-date technical documentation. Frontend Technologies - Framework: Next.js 15.0 with React 18.3 - Language: TypeScript for type-safe development - UI Components: ShadCN UI with Radix UI primitives - Styling: Tailwind CSS with custom design system - State Management: React Hooks and Context API - Form Handling: React Hook Form with Zod validation Backend Technologies - Authentication: Firebase Authentication with NextAuth.js and custom claims-based RBAC - Database: Firebase Firestore (NoSQL) with Security Rules authoring - FHIR Integration: Google Cloud Healthcare API — FHIR R4 resource operations and data exchange - AI/ML Platform: Google Genkit with Gemini AI for clinical workflow automation - Cloud Functions: Firebase Functions — HTTP, Firestore, Auth, Pub/Sub, and Scheduled triggers - File Storage: Firebase Storage for documents and media - Data & Analytics: BigQuery for FHIR data analytics; streaming and batch export pipelines from Google Cloud Healthcare API - Messaging: GCP Pub/Sub for event-driven architectures and FHIR change notifications - Observability: GCP Cloud Logging, Error Reporting, and Cloud Trace for monitoring and debugging Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). - 7-9 years of hands-on experience in software development with a strong focus on full-stack web technologies. - Deep proficiency in Next.js, React and TypeScript for building production-grade web applications, including App Router patterns and Server Components. - Strong experience with Firebase Authentication, NextAuth.js and implementing custom claims-based RBAC across Next.js middleware, Firebase Security Rules, and Cloud Functions. - Hands-on experience with Firebase Firestore, including data modelling for NoSQL, Security Rules authoring, and working with consistency patterns. - Good experience with Google Cloud Healthcare API for FHIR R4 compliant data exchange, including resource CRUD operations, search, and batch/streaming export to BigQuery. - Practical experience working with BigQuery for healthcare analytics, including navigating FHIR-structured schemas and writing analytical SQL. - Hands-on experience with Firebase Functions across multiple trigger types: HTTP, Firestore, Auth, Pub/Sub, and Scheduled. - Experience with UI development using ShadCN UI, Radix UI primitives, Tailwind CSS, and form handling with React Hook Form and Zod validation. Preferred Skillset - Experience building event-driven architectures using GCP Pub/Sub, including FHIR change notification pipelines and async processing. - Experience integrating Google Genkit and Gemini AI into production applications, with strong understanding of responsible AI use and PHI handling in clinical contexts. - Proficiency with GCP observability tools - Cloud Logging, Error Reporting, and Cloud Trace — for proactive monitoring and production issue diagnosis. - Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines; experience with Firebase App Hosting or similar deployment platforms. - Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance requirements and experience designing HIPAA-compliant software, including PHI handling, audit logging and data security best practices. - Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to work independently on complex systems, and strong written and verbal technical communication.
