Job Description – QA Automation Engineer / SDET Location: Gurugram Cyber City Work Mode: Work from Office Working Days: 6 Days a Week Experience: 3+ Years Preferred Employment Type: Full-Time Role Overview We are looking for a responsible and technically strong QA Automation Engineer / SDET who can take complete ownership of software quality, testing, automation, and release validation. The candidate must be comfortable working independently, identifying problems before deployment, coordinating with developers, clients, and stakeholders, and taking responsibility for the quality of work delivered. This is an ownership-driven role. Candidates should be willing to be accountable for commitments, deadlines, testing coverage, and preventable quality issues attributable to their work. Performance and repeated negligence will be managed through the company's performance and disciplinary policies in accordance with applicable employment laws. Mandatory Technical Skills Candidates must have hands-on experience with: - Python - Selenium - FastAPI - Docker - API testing and automation - REST APIs - Backend testing - UI/Web automation testing - Manual testing - Regression testing - Functional and integration testing - Writing and maintaining automated test scripts - Debugging and identifying root causes of defects - Git / version control - Understanding of CI/CD environments - Basic SQL and database validation Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain Selenium-based automation frameworks. - Perform both manual and automated testing. - Test Python/FastAPI backend services and APIs. - Validate Dockerized applications and deployment environments. - Develop automated API and UI test suites. - Perform regression, functional, integration, smoke, and end-to-end testing. - Identify bugs, document them clearly, and coordinate with developers until closure. - Conduct proper testing before releases and ensure critical defects do not reach clients. - Maintain test cases, test reports, defect reports, and release-quality documentation. - Investigate production issues and support root-cause analysis. - Ensure completed work meets agreed technical and quality standards. - Take full ownership of assigned testing and quality responsibilities. - Communicate risks or delays early rather than waiting until deadlines are missed. - Participate actively in client calls, demonstrations, testing discussions, and stakeholder meetings. - Explain technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Coordinate closely with developers, project managers, product teams, and management. Communication & Client Interaction The candidate must: - Be fluent in spoken and written English. - Be confident interacting directly with clients and stakeholders. - Be able to conduct and participate professionally in meetings. - Provide clear status updates and testing reports. - Communicate bugs, risks, timelines, and dependencies professionally. - Be comfortable taking responsibility for commitments made to clients and internal teams. Ownership & Accountability We are specifically looking for candidates who: - Take responsibility for the work assigned to them. - Do not require continuous follow-up from managers. - Thoroughly test their work before marking tasks complete. - Accept accountability for avoidable errors resulting from negligence or incomplete testing. - Raise issues immediately when they identify a risk. - Respect deadlines and delivery commitments. - Are willing to work under a performance-linked accountability framework. - Understand that repeated negligence, incomplete work, missed commitments, or preventable quality failures may result in corrective action in accordance with company policy and applicable law. Preferred Skills Good to have: - PyTest - Postman - Playwright - Jenkins / GitHub Actions / CI-CD - Linux - AWS / Azure / GCP exposure - Load or performance testing - Basic knowledge of AI/ML or GenAI applications - Experience testing LLM-based or AI-enabled products Candidate Profile We prefer candidates who are: - Based in Gurugram, Delhi NCR, or able to commute reliably to Cyber City. - Comfortable working 6 days a week from the Gurugram office. - Serious about building a long-term career. - Highly responsible and disciplined. - Strong problem-solvers. - Detail-oriented. - Comfortable working in a fast-paced technology environment. - Able to independently manage responsibilities from testing through final delivery.
