Fullstack Tech Lead

ABOUT APPINESS Appiness is a product engineering company headquartered in Bangalore. Since 2012 we have built and scaled software products for clients ranging from early-stage startups to Fortune 500 enterprises, across web, mobile and cloud. Our engineering teams own what they build, from architecture through to production. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Own the end-to-end architecture across the Next.js frontend and the Node.js services behind it. - Write and review production code. Define engineering standards and hold the team to them. - Lead technical discussions with the client's core technology team on scope, design decisions, estimates and risk. - Translate product requirements into technical plans, milestones and realistic delivery timelines. - Mentor engineers through code review, pairing and design - sessions. - Own cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, application performance and production reliability. - Set standards for AI-assisted development, including how generated code is reviewed and tested before it ships. - Evaluate technical trade-offs and document the reasoning behind architectural decisions REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - 8+ years building production web applications, including at least 2 years leading or mentoring engineers. - Advanced TypeScript across both frontend and backend. - Deep production experience with React and Next.js, covering rendering strategy, data fetching, routing and performance. - Strong Node.js as a primary backend language, with proven API and service design experience. - Hands-on ownership of cloud infrastructure on AWS. - Equivalent depth on GCP or Azure will be considered. - Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to lead technical conversations with senior stakeholders. - Practical use of AI coding assistants in production work, with the judgement to validate what they generate. - Experience delivering in distributed, remote-first engineering teams.
