Electrical & Instrumentation ( E&I ) Engineer

Job Title : Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer Location : L&T Hydrocarbon; Jamnagar Department : Engineering/Operations Job Overview : The Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer is responsible for the design, development, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems and instrumentation for various projects. This role will support the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of electrical and control systems in compliance with relevant standards and regulations. The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise in electrical engineering, instrumentation, control systems, and automation. Key Responsibilities : - Design electrical and instrumentation systems for new installations, upgrades, or modifications. - Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and client specifications. - Supervise the installation of electrical and instrumentation systems on-site, ensuring quality and safety standards are adhered to. - Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance procedures for electrical and instrumentation equipment . - Assist in the preparation of project scopes, budgets, schedules, and resource allocation. - Ensure all electrical and instrumentation work is conducted in a safe manner, following all applicable safety regulations and standards. - Conduct risk assessments and participate in safety audits and reviews. - Maintain records of equipment, repairs, inspections, and upgrades. - Prepare technical reports, as-built drawings, and documentation for completed projects. Qualifications : Education : Bachelors degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field. Experience : - Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation engineering, preferably in [ Refinery, oil & gas, power, manufacturing]. - Proven experience in designing, installing, and maintaining electrical systems and instrumentation. - Experience with control systems, PLCs, SCADA, and automation is highly preferred. Skills : - Strong knowledge of electrical standards, codes, and regulations . - Proficient in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar). - Hands-on experience with electrical and instrumentation testing and commissioning. - Familiarity with process control and automation systems (e.g., DCS, PLCs). - Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. - Strong project management and organizational skills.
