In this role you will design, build and operate analytics pipelines and infrastructure that turn IB-related failure data (warranty and development sources such as MDR, CDC, Snaps, GW) into actionable findings. You will establish automated detection of anomalies and KPI violations, integrate analytics with testing workflows (including pipeline and parallel testing of AmTs and Testguide/Testsuite), and take ownership of the toolchain and technology stack. Working closely with internal developers and customer stakeholders, you will translate requirements into robust, scalable solutions and continuously improve the analytics landscape to reduce failures, speed up root-cause identification and raise vehicle quality. This position offers the chance to shape end-to-end data products in a collaborative, international environment and to have a measurable impact on BMW’s vehicle performance and customer satisfaction. | What should you bring along | - A strong problem-solving mindset and the ability to translate ambiguous business needs into technical solutions. - Proven experience driving end-to-end analytics projects, from data ingestion and pipeline design to model development, validation and deployment. - Excellent communication skills to align requirements and deliverables with customers and multidisciplinary development teams. - A hands-on, ownership-driven attitude with the ability to work independently and make pragmatic decisions. - Willingness to collaborate with test and engineering teams and to learn domain-specific aspects of in-vehicle (IB) systems where needed. | Must have technical skill | - Advanced programming skills in Python and PySpark; knowledge of Java or C++ is a plus. - Practical experience with ML approaches for analytics, including LLMs and deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras or PyTorch. - Proficiency in query languages (KQL, SQL). - Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms. - Experience working with cloud infrastructures and services on AWS and/or Azure. - Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD workflows. - Familiarity with automotive diagnostic and logging technologies such as Diagnostic Log and Trace (DLT) and Automotive Diagnosis. - Ability to take ownership, work independently and make deployment/operational decisions. - | Good to have Technical skills | - Prior experience in the IB (in-vehicle/infotainment/functional) domain. - Knowledge of automotive network/bus technologies (Ethernet, FlexRay, SOME/IP, CAN). - Experience with Bazel or other build systems and related CI integrations. - Background in board-net technologies or embedded systems analytics. - Experience integrating analytics with testing frameworks (e.g., Testguide/Testsuite) and automated measurement tools (AmTs). |
