ABOUT TEAM The Core Operations Platform is designed to build, integrate, and support a unified technology ecosystem that enables efficient, scalable, and controlled execution of Client and Market Operations processes. It serves as the central backbone for operational workflows, consolidating fragmented systems into a single, orchestrated platform that improves data integrity, reduces manual effort, and enhances operational transparency. This aligns with the broader vision of moving from multi-system, manual processes to a unified, workflow-driven model ABOUT THE ROLE The Director, Software Engineering is responsible for providing technical leadership, project management, process development, training, support, and a technology vision for the Core Operation Platform. This team is responsible for multiple business processes namely Account Onboarding, Activities, Reconciliation and Reporting. The role will work with Data Services and Portfolio Management technology teams across the Direct Indexing business priorities, to design and develop technology solutions, and to improve business processes. This spans across core services to enable onboarding through our partners as well as business facing websites to allow the efficient onboarding and management of Accounts. These services will help streamline the rule-based portfolio analytics, order generation and straight through processing allow for exception driven portfolio management. The Director will work closely with the Client Relationship Group and Market Operations for designing efficient applications to onboard accounts while minimizing risk. They will also work with the Digital Team developing services to that will be used by our Financial Advisor portal. In this role, the candidate will develop the appropriate software strategy, striking a balance between: (1) alignment with the growth objectives of the Business; (2) higher performance and consistently high quality; and (3) cost effective application structure and use of new technologies. This leader will shape the long term product vision, drive engineering excellence, partner closely with business stakeholders, and ensure scalable, intuitive user experiences across operational teams. This is a senior leadership role accountable for setting direction, executing delivery, and building a high performing team that modernizes how users interact with operations platform and supporting data systems. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Strategy & Vision - Define and execute the technology roadmap for the Core Operations Platform, aligning investments and capabilities with business priorities and long-term growth objectives. - Drive architecture and technology decisions that promote scalability, resiliency, security, and operational efficiency. - Contribute to and help advance the AI and automation strategy for the Core Operations Platform, focusing on practical use cases that improve efficiency and decision-making. Product & Delivery Execution - Lead the design, development, and delivery of technology solutions supporting account onboarding, operational workflows, reconciliation, reporting, and client servicing. - Champion engineering best practices, including software quality, automation, performance optimization, and continuous improvement. Business Engagement & Stakeholder Partnership - Partner closely with Operations, Client Relationship Group, Digital, Data Services, and Portfolio Management Technology teams to identify and deliver high-impact solutions. - Translate business needs into technology strategies that improve user experience, operational efficiency, and risk management. People Leadership & Organizational Development - Build, lead, and develop a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation. - Recruit, mentor, and retain top talent while supporting career development and succession planning. Governance, Risk & Operational Excellence - Ensure technology solutions adhere to regulatory, security, and operational risk standards while maintaining platform stability and reliability. - Establish strong governance, support, and change management practices that enable effective delivery and continuous operational improvement. JOB REQUIREMENTS - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science - Asset management industry experience preferred. - 15+ years of hands-on development experience managing all aspects of technical projects with a proven track record of delivering well architected and well written software solutions. - 7+ years of Experience supervising and guiding software development teams and fostering an engaging, collaborative environment. - 10+ Years of Experience developing scalable solutions with advanced programming languages including .Net and Java framework. - Proven track record of becoming a subject matter expert in areas related to current assignments. - Strong leadership skills including: - Vision and strategy - Influencing and consensus building - Communication - Total quality commitment - Ownership and accountability - Project management - Successful track record of development and implementation of an innovative strategic vision and plans, and competence in building strategies to deliver technology to meet business goals and objectives.
