Job Description – Release Engineer Job Title: Release Engineer Experience: 1–5 Years Employment Type: Full-Time Location: Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai, Pune, Hyderabad, Delhi, Gurugram (Hybrid/Work From Office depending on business requirements) Salary: ₹8–20 LPA About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Release Engineer to manage software releases, deployment automation, and CI/CD processes. The ideal candidate should have experience with Git, build automation, release management, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. You will work closely with development, QA, DevOps, and operations teams to ensure smooth, reliable, and timely software releases. Key Responsibilities - Plan, coordinate, and execute software releases across development, testing, and production environments. - Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments. - Manage source code repositories using Git and implement branching strategies. - Collaborate with developers and QA teams to ensure successful application deployments. - Monitor deployment activities and troubleshoot release-related issues. - Automate release and deployment processes to improve efficiency and reliability. - Maintain release documentation, deployment procedures, and version history. - Ensure rollback strategies and disaster recovery procedures are in place. - Participate in change management and release planning meetings. - Continuously improve release processes and deployment automation. Required Skills - Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or Bamboo. - Hands-on experience with Git and version control workflows. - Understanding of software release management and deployment best practices. - Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems. - Knowledge of scripting using Bash, Python, or PowerShell. - Experience with build tools such as Maven, Gradle, or npm. - Understanding of Agile and DevOps methodologies. - Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills. - Strong communication and collaboration abilities. Preferred Skills - Experience with Docker and Kubernetes. - Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). - Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation). - Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Splunk. - Experience with artifact repositories like Nexus or JFrog Artifactory. - Understanding of security best practices in CI/CD pipelines. Educational Qualification - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. - Relevant certifications in DevOps, Cloud, Git, or CI/CD technologies are an added advantage.
