Job Description

As a Java Developer, you will be responsible for the technical design and development of complex workflow solutions. Your expertise will focus Java technologies. You will collaborate closely with project leads, technical lead, managers, scrum teams, and other business and technical stakeholders to ensure project alignment and success. What will you do - Develop and Maintain Backend Services: Design and implement microservices and backend APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and Spring MVC. - Database Management: Collaborate with database teams to design, develop, and maintain SQL-based solutions on DB2 and MSSQL. - Microservices Architecture: Work on the development and deployment of microservices-based solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance. - Integration: Integrate backend services with external systems, APIs, and databases, ensuring seamless communication across services. - Collaborate with Front-end Developers: Work closely with front-end teams (if applicable) to integrate backend services with user-facing applications. - Optimize Application Performance: Monitor and optimize application performance, including database queries and response times. - Code Quality and Testing: Ensure high-quality, maintainable code by writing unit tests, performing code reviews, and following coding best practices. - Troubleshooting and Debugging: Analyze and resolve issues in production environments, improving the overall system s stability and performance. - Documentation: Document the architecture, code, and processes to maintain clear, effective, and concise records. - Continuous Learning : Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends, tools, and methodologies related to Java development, Spring Boot, and microservices. - Collaborate with Business Analysts and users to define project scope and technical assumptions. - Break down requirements into actionable tasks and user stories. - Create technical specifications that encompass end-to-end functionality. - Drive client communications, support technical needs, and provide root cause analysis (RCA) for quality issues. - Estimate task effort, timelines, and review technical proposals. - Analyze and resolve production issues within agreed timeframes. What skills are required - 4-6 years of professional experience in Java development, with a focus on Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and microservices architecture. - Experience in delivering solutions within the insurance domain is preferred. - Proven ability to work across multiple project delivery teams and with external clients. - Extensive experience with Java/J2EE technologies, Spring Boot, and full software development lifecycle (SDLC). - Proficiency in front-end technologies including HTML, jQuery, CSS, and JavaScript. - Strong SQL and database experience (DB2, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MS SQL). - Hands-on experience with Spring and Hibernate frameworks. - Expertise in developing SOAP and REST services in Java. - Solid understanding of microservices architecture. - Experience with Java build tools such as Maven, Gradle, and Ant. - Familiarity with source control systems like Git, SVN, etc. - Experience building high-availability, multi-threaded Java applications. - Knowledge of DevOps tools (Jenkins, TeamCity, SONAR) is a plus. - Experience with reporting tools (QlikView, Power BI) and JBPM tools is a plus. - Proficiency with database technologies (RDBMS or NoSQL). - Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to perform root cause analysis (RCA). - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
