Electrical Design Engineer – Power Transformer

Job Description: Electrical Design Engineer- Power Transformers Job Location:- Pune,Maharashtra Experience:- 5+ Yrs Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer with hands-on experience in power transformer design . The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in transformer design, engineering calculations, and exposure to manufacturing and testing processes. You will play a key role in delivering reliable and efficient transformer solutions aligned with industry standards. Key Responsibilities - Design power and distribution transformers including core, winding, insulation, and cooling systems - Perform detailed electrical and mechanical design calculations (losses, impedance, thermal performance, etc.) - Prepare and review technical drawings, GA drawings, BOMs, and design documents - Independently handle or support core and winding design activities - Coordinate with production teams to ensure accurate implementation of design specifications - Provide technical support during manufacturing stages: core assembly, winding, tanking, and final assembly - Participate in routine and type testing (IR, ratio test, impedance, load/no-load losses, temperature rise, etc.) - Ensure compliance with IEC / IS standards and internal quality procedures - Analyze test results and troubleshoot design/manufacturing issues - Support quality inspections and implement corrective/preventive actions - Maintain design records, technical reports, and documentation - Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards - Required Skills & Knowledge - Strong knowledge of: - Power systems and electrical machines - Transformer design principles (core, winding, losses, cooling methods) Proven hands-on experience in power transformer design Familiarity with IEC / IS standards Ability to interpret and create electrical drawings and schematics Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design tools Good working knowledge of MS Excel and Word Understanding of manufacturing processes and testing methods is essential Soft Skills - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities - Good communication and coordination skills - Attention to detail and quality focus - Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams Contact Person:- Shivangi Das Contact No:- 7016590133 Email I'd:- shivangi@ashitaconsultants.com
