Role Description Job Description Storage Backup Engineer ITSS Managed Services Position Overview The Storage Backup Engineer will be responsible for the administration support and optimization of enterprise storage and backup systems across client Group entities This role ensures data availability integrity and disaster recovery readiness supporting both corporate and industrial operations under the ITSS shared services model The engineer will play a key role in data center operations SANNAS management archiving and compliance Key Responsibilities Storage Administration oManage SAN switches enterprise storage arrays and NAS devices oPerform configuration monitoring and health checks of storage systems oEnsure proactive capacity planning and performance optimization Backup Operations oAdminister enterprise backup solutions tape libraries and archiving systems oManage offsite backup tape handling sending and recycling oEnsure compliance with ITSS disaster recovery and business continuity requirements Incident Problem Resolution oProvide L2L3 support for storage and backuprelated incidents oConduct root cause analysis RCA for recurring infrastructure issues Disaster Recovery Support oSupport DRaaSIaaS solutions provided by Client Holding oEnsure readiness of disaster recovery sites and compliance with ITSS continuity standards Governance Compliance oAlign storage and backup operations with ITSS governance cybersecurity and audit requirements oMaintain accurate documentation of configurations changes and operational reports Continuous Improvement oIdentify automation opportunities in backup scheduling monitoring and reporting oRecommend improvements to enhance resilience reduce costs and improve efficiency Required Skills Competencies Strong expertise in enterprise storage systems SANNAS and backup solutions Knowledge of tape libraries archiving operations and disaster recovery frameworks Familiarity with ITSM tools ServiceNow Remedy or equivalent Understanding of ITIL processes Incident Problem Change Capacity Availability Strong troubleshooting analytical and documentation skills Qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science IT or related field 68 years of experience in storage and backup administration Certifications preferred VMware VCP Microsoft Certified Windows Server NetAppEMC Storage ITIL Foundation Experience in data center operations and enterprise IT environments is an advantage Performance Metrics SLA compliance for incident resolution and system availability Reduction in downtime and storagebackuprelated incidents Accuracy of backup and compliance reporting User satisfaction scores for infrastructure services Audit and governance adherence
