IT Automation Engineer

Job Title: IT Automation Engineer Experience: 4 - 7 Years Location: Bangalore / Hybrid (3 days work from office) Shift: 6 PM - 3 AM Role Summary We are seeking a highly skilled IT Automation Engineer to design, build, and operate intelligent automation solutions across IT Operations and enterprise processes. The role focuses on knowledge around agentic automation, AI/ML-driven decisioning and strong experience on end-to-end orchestration using platforms such as ServiceNow, Power Automate, and custom agentic frameworks. The ideal candidate blends strong scripting and integration skills with process thinking, enabling autonomous or semi-autonomous workflows that reduce manual effort, improve reliability, and accelerate resolution. Key Responsibilities Platform & Tooling - Develop advanced automations using ServiceNow (Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, Script Includes, Business Rules). - Build workflows and orchestrations using Microsoft Power Automate, Logic Apps, and connectors. - Create and extend custom agentic platforms using Python/Node.js-based frameworks. - Integrate with monitoring tools, ticketing systems, cloud platforms, and enterprise applications. Scripting & Integrations - Develop automation scripts using Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, or Bash. - Build and consume REST/SOAP APIs, webhooks, and event-driven integrations. - Handle authentication mechanisms (OAuth, tokens, certificates). - Ensure idempotency, error handling, retries and observability in automations. Process Automation & Optimization - Analyze IT and business processes to identify automation opportunities. - Translate manual SOPs and runbooks into digital and agentic runbooks. - Drive process standardization before automation. - Measure automation effectiveness (MTTR reduction, effort saved, success rate). Governance, Reliability & Security - Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting for automation flows. - Ensure compliance with security, access control, and audit requirements. - Maintain version control, CI/CD pipelines, and environment promotion strategies. - Define automation guardrails, rollback strategies, and kill-switch mechanisms. Required Skills & Experience Core Skills - 4–6 years of experience in IT automation, orchestration or platform engineering. - Strong hands-on experience with ServiceNow automation and integrations. - Experience with Power Automate / Logic Apps for enterprise workflows. - Proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript for automation and agent logic. Agentic & AI/ML - Knowledge on agent-based automation or AI-driven workflows. - Understanding of LLMs, ML models, prompt orchestration and tool calling. - Knowledge on integrating AI services (Azure AI, OpenAI APIs, or similar). Integration & Systems - Strong API integration experience across ITSM, monitoring, cloud, and SaaS tools. - Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP) and event-driven architectures. - Experience automating across hybrid environments. Preferred / Nice to Have - Knowledge of AIOps, monitoring automation, and incident remediation. - Experience with ServiceNow IRM, ITOM, or CSM modules. - Exposure to RPA tools alongside API-based automation. - DevOps experience (Git, pipelines, IaC concepts).
