Manager of Software Engineering - Java Full Stack (Java, React, AWS)

As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorganChase within the Asset and Wealth Management, you lead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your team’s work adheres to compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices. Job responsibilities - Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities - Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems - Sets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration - Anticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements - Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems - Drives team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes (e.g., AI-assisted code review/refactoring, test strategy acceleration, incident/root-cause analysis support), while establishing consistent validation standards (secure coding, peer review, automated testing) and promoting reuse of effective patterns across the team. - Manages stakeholder relationships and the team’s work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements - Creates a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect for the team members and prioritizes diverse representation Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills - Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience - Experience leading technology projects - Experience managing technologists - Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods - Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle - Practical cloud native experience with AWS - In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems - Experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills - Full stack Java hands-on developer - Proficiency in designing and building cloud native application for AWS - Knowledge on AI / LLM is an added advantage
