JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Lead Database Engineer Job Summary We are looking for a Lead Database Engineer with strong experience in database migration, consolidation, and data engineering. The role will lead the migration of multiple legacy databases into a unified target schema while ensuring data integrity, reconciliation, performance, and production readiness. Key Responsibilities - Lead end-to-end migration and consolidation of multiple legacy databases into a single target schema. - Perform data profiling, source-to-target mapping, transformation, and master data/entity resolution. - Develop and execute full-load, incremental, delta, and CDC-based migration processes. - Design reconciliation processes covering row counts, checksums, control totals, financial balancing, and exception reporting. - Develop migration runbooks, rollback plans, rehearsal strategies, and production cutover plans. - Execute migrations across DEV, QA, UAT, and Production environments. - Develop and optimize complex T-SQL, stored procedures, functions, triggers, indexes, and queries . - Work with SQL Server/MSSQL, IBM DB2, PostgreSQL, and Oracle databases. - Utilize Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, SSIS, Azure Storage, Azure Key Vault, DMA, and Azure Database Migration Service . - Implement database CI/CD using SSDT/DACPAC, Flyway/Liquibase, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions . - Ensure database security, data masking, encryption, RBAC, and audit requirements. - Assess the impact of schema changes on Power BI, SSRS, batch interfaces, and downstream applications . - Use Python/PowerShell and AI-assisted tools for migration automation, reconciliation, and engineering productivity. - Provide technical leadership and communicate migration risks, data issues, and reconciliation results to stakeholders. Required Skills & Experience - 8–12 years of database/data engineering experience with at least 2 end-to-end production data migrations . - Expert knowledge of SQL Server 2016+, T-SQL, database internals, performance tuning, indexing, execution plans, statistics, and partitioning . - Mandatory experience consolidating multiple independent databases into a single target schema . - Strong experience in ETL, data migration, data reconciliation, master data management, entity resolution, and data quality . - Hands-on experience with SQL Server/MSSQL, IBM DB2, PostgreSQL, and Oracle databases. - Strong experience with Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, SSIS, Azure Storage, and Azure Key Vault . - Experience with DMA and Azure Database Migration Service is preferred. - Experience with database DevOps, CI/CD, schema-as-code, and version control . - Strong scripting skills in Python and/or PowerShell . - Good understanding of database security, encryption, data masking, RBAC, and data privacy . - Strong communication, documentation, troubleshooting, and stakeholder management skills. - Practical experience using AI-assisted coding/data tools for SQL, mappings, migration scripts, and documentation. Good to Have - Experience in Insurance, F&I, vehicle service contracts, warranty, claims, billing, or dealer remittance . - Experience with multi-tenant data models and complex business rules. - Exposure to Azure Synapse, Databricks, or Microsoft Fabric . - Experience with Redgate, ApexSQL, dbForge , or similar database comparison tools. - Ability to understand Angular/.NET application code and trace data access paths. - DP-300 or DP-203 certification.
