SendClean An Email Platform by Route Mobile Limited - Proximus Group Email Deliverability Engineer Location Hyderabad, India (on-site) Function Email Deliverability & Platform Operations Experience 4–7 years in email deliverability / MTA operations Type Full-time About The Role Route Mobile Limited is a publicly listed Cloud Communications (CPaaS) provider, in the business since 2004, serving enterprises, OTT players and mobile operators across BFSI, retail, travel and e-commerce. SendClean is our high-volume email platform. SendClean is Route Mobile’s high-volume email platform. We push billions of transactional and marketing emails a month for banks, fintechs, retail and OTT customers across India, LATAM, the Middle East and now the US market. At that scale, deliverability is not a marketing checkbox – it is an engineering problem. Every point of inbox placement we lose is revenue our customers lose. We are looking for a Deliverability Engineer who can live in both worlds: someone who understands sender reputation, ISP policy and authentication as deeply as any deliverability consultant, but who is also comfortable on a Linux box at 2 AM reading MTA logs to find out why a sending IP suddenly started getting 421s from Google. If you can read a bounce log, tell the difference between a real block and a transient defer, and explain to a customer why their list quality is killing their reputation – in the same afternoon – you are the person we want. This is a hands-on role. You will own inbox placement for a large book of enterprise senders, work directly with the SRE and platform teams on the sending infrastructure, and be the person the delivery team escalates to when something is genuinely on fire. What You’ll Actually Do – Own deliverability end-to-end. Own inbox placement and sender reputation across our sending IP pools and domains – monitor it, defend it, and recover it when it drops. – Debug on the server. Read the logs. Dig through MTA logs (receiving and sending nodes), SMTP transaction logs and bounce data to root-cause why mail is deferring, bouncing or landing in spam. You should be able to tell a 4xx defer from a 5xx block and know what to do about each. – Warm-up & IP hygiene. Manage IP warm-up schedules for new ranges and new customers, and know when to slow a sender down before they burn a range. – Authentication. Set up and read SPF, DKIM, DMARC (and BIMI where it applies). Diagnose alignment failures and fix authentication issues for customers who bring their own domains. – ISP & mailbox provider policy. Stay ahead of Gmail, Yahoo and Microsoft sender requirements and enforcement changes, and translate them into concrete actions before they hit our customers – not after. – Blocklist monitoring & remediation. Watch Spamhaus, SURBL, Barracuda and the other blocklists. When we get listed, you find out why, fix the root cause, and drive the delisting. – Bounce & complaint handling. Classify and act on bounces and FBL/complaint feedback, keep suppression clean, and use complaint and bounce signatures to catch list-quality and spamtrap problems early. – Metrics & reporting. Build and read dashboards (Kibana / Grafana or similar) for delivery, bounce and latency metrics. Turn raw delivery data into something a customer or an account manager can act on. – Customer-facing deliverability. Work directly with customers on their sending practices – list hygiene, content, cadence, authentication – and hold the line on our compliance and anti-abuse standards. – Cross-team work. Partner with SRE, platform and support engineering on MTA config, queue behaviour and infrastructure changes that affect delivery. Deliverability doesn’t happen in isolation from the platform. – Audits & compliance. Run regular audits of our sending infrastructure and practices against industry standards and mailbox-provider requirements, and keep us compliant with anti-spam regulation (CAN-SPAM, GDPR, CASL and the rest). – Vendor & postmaster relationships. Own the external relationships that decide our fate – blocklist operators, feedback-loop and seed-list / inbox-placement providers, and mailbox-provider postmaster channels – to troubleshoot issues and push delistings through. – Documentation. Keep deliverability SOPs, runbooks and playbooks current so the delivery and support teams can handle the routine cases without escalating every time. – Mentoring & training. Coach the delivery and support teams on deliverability fundamentals – turn tribal knowledge into something the whole team can actually use. – Tooling & continuous improvement. Evaluate new deliverability, monitoring and inbox-placement tooling, and make the call on what’s worth adopting – we’re actively investing in better tooling, not standing still. What we’re looki ng for – Real email-industry exposure. 4+ years working hands-on in email deliverability, ideally at an ESP, CPaaS or a serious high-volume sender – not just campaign-side marketing. – You understand SMTP properly. Solid working knowledge of SMTP: response codes, bounce codes, deferrals, connection behaviour, and what mailbox providers do and don’t tell you. – Server-level comfort. Comfortable on Linux. You can SSH into a box, grep through logs, follow a message through the pipeline, and use basic scripting (bash / Python) to pull the answer out of a large log file. – Authentication in your bones. Hands-on with SPF, DKIM, DMARC, DNS records, and comfortable diagnosing them when they break. – You know the ecosystem. You know Postmaster Tools, SNDS, feedback loops, blocklists and the reputation systems that actually decide inbox placement. – Analytical and evidence-driven. When mail is going to spam, you form a hypothesis, test it against the data, and fix the actual cause instead of guessing. – Clear communicator. You can explain a deliverability problem to a customer, an account manager and an engineer – three different audiences – and influence stakeholders at every level without losing any of them. Nice to have (not deal-breakers) – Hands-on experience with MTA –Postfix, PowerMTA or similar. – Familiarity with Elasticsearch / Kibana or another log-analytics stack for delivery monitoring. – Exposure to AWS (or another cloud) and how sending infrastructure runs on it. – Working knowledge of Redis, message queues (RabbitMQ ) or the moving parts of a sending pipeline. – HTML email and rendering know-how – enough to spot when the content is the problem. – Prior time in a deliverability lead or expert role – if you’ve owned this for an organisation before, that counts. – A bachelor’s in marketing, CS/IT or a related field – or equivalent real-world experience. Why PXS Global? - Global & Inclusive – Work with diverse teams across 100+ countries, embracing a truly international culture. - Growth-Focused – Develop your career through tailored learning, leadership programmes, and internal mobility. - Innovation-Driven – Contribute to cutting-edge projects in 5G, IoT, and next-gen communication technologies. - Flexible Workstyle – Enjoy hybrid working with the option to work remotely and even from abroad for up to 10 days a year. - Efficient & Scalable – Be part of a company that values simplicity, operational excellence, and smart growth. - Comprehensive Benefits – Enjoy a competitive and thoughtfully designed salary package, with a wide range of benefits. A bachelor’s in marketing, CS/IT or a related field – or equivalent real-world experience.
