Job Description

About the role Robokidz is hiring its founding Head of Training to build and lead the entire Training vertical at YEA! — Young Engineers' Academy. YEA! is a pan-India network of centres where children aged 6+ learn robotics, AI, 3D printing, electronics, coding, and applied STEM by actually building things. Our curriculum is deliberately broad and forward-looking — a child who joins at age 7 should leave at 14 fluent in the technologies shaping the next decade. That breadth is also our hiring challenge. As we scale from a handful of centres to dozens of cities, every trainer we deploy has to be credible across multiple emerging disciplines, not just one. You will be the person who decides what "credible" looks like — and how it gets built, repeatedly, at scale. The mission Build a scalable, repeatable system that turns technically strong engineers into outstanding child educators — so Robokidz can open a new centre in any city in India and trust that the classroom experience will be world-class from day one. What you will own Train-the-Trainer program. Design and run Robokidz' Trainer Certification Program — a structured journey from new hire to certified trainer, with defined levels (L1 → L2 → L3 → Master Trainer), assessments, and progression criteria. Build training tracks for technical depth across robotics, AI, 3D printing, electronics, coding, IoT, and applied STEM. Pedagogy & curriculum enablement. Translate the Robokidz curriculum into trainer-ready lesson plans, demo scripts, project guides, storytelling frameworks, and age-band playbooks (6–8, 9–11, 12–14). Soft skills & parent communication. Coach trainers on classroom presence, child engagement, storytelling, and parent conversations. Build the "how a Robokidz trainer talks to a parent" playbook. Quality assurance. Define what a great Robokidz session looks like and make it observable, measurable, and coachable. Own classroom audits, trainer NPS, parent NPS on teaching quality, and re-enrolment rates. Building the vertical. Hire and lead Master Trainers and regional training leads as the centre network grows. Own the training budget, tooling (LMS, video libraries, assessments), and rollout plans alongside the founder. Who you are 8–14 years total experience in education, training, or EdTech, with at least 3+ years leading train-the-trainer, L&D, or faculty development programs. Engineering or applied-tech background (Mechanical, Electronics, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Robotics, AI/ML, or similar) credible across multiple disciplines — strong enough to evaluate a trainer's depth across robotics, AI, 3D printing, electronics, and coding. You don't need to be world-class in every discipline, but you need to know what "good" looks like in each. Experience teaching or training learners in the 6–14 age band, or leading trainers who do. You understand how a 7-year-old's attention works differently from a 12-year-old's. A genuine storyteller. You can hold a room, turn a technical concept into a story a child remembers a week later, and teach others to do the same. A builder. Excited to design a vertical from a blank page — frameworks, playbooks, certifications, dashboards — not to inherit and maintain one. Comfortable travelling to centres across India, especially in the first 12–18 months, to observe, coach, and audit on the ground. Nice to have Background in EdTech, K-12 schools, robotics academies, maker-spaces, STEM programs, or vocational training institutes. Formal training certifications (Train-the-Trainer, CIPD, ATD, instructional design). Experience setting up LMS, trainer dashboards, or certification programs from scratch. Multi-lingual ability (English + Hindi minimum; additional regional languages a plus). What success looks like — first 12 months Months 0–3: Audit current trainers, document the existing teaching method, publish v1 of the Robokidz Trainer Certification framework. Months 3–6: Run the first certification cohort end-to-end. Every active trainer benchmarked against the new standard. Parent-facing communication playbook is live. Months 6–9: Measurable improvement in trainer NPS and parent-feedback scores on teaching quality. New-trainer onboarding time drops by a defined target. Months 9–12: Training playbooks are repeatable enough that Robokidz can open a centre in any city and staff it with confidence. First Master Trainers certified. What we offer Founding-team seat with a clear mandate from the founder and a seat at the leadership table. Competitive fixed pay + performance incentives + ESOPs (founding-team grant). Direct ownership of an entire vertical. Real, visible impact — every trainer you build will shape hundreds of children, every year. How to apply Send your CV plus a one-page note (or a 3-minute video) answering one question: "How would you turn a brilliant 24-year-old robotics engineer, with zero teaching experience, into a trainer that a parent of a 7-year-old would trust within 90 days?"
