Engineer - Electrical (FI)

Description The incumbent will be the part of WSP in India - Finland MEP Team (P&B) as a BIM Engineer – Electrical based in Bengaluru. The role involves developing BIM models, detailed electrical engineering designs, and construction drawings for building projects, while coordinating with engineers in Finland and India. Responsibilities extend beyond drawing deliverables, including working with other engineers to perform calculations and support integrated project delivery Responsibilities Technical • Focus on the delivery of high-quality technical design drawings and specifications to the required regulations • Prepare MEP 3D BIM coordinated models • Clash detection and clash resolution • Create Parametric BIM Families • Provide specialist support to design teams preparing analysis and design models • Support design teams and bid teams with the creation of 3D visualizations • Support design teams and bid teams with creation of 4D models / visualizations • Prepare quantities for use in BoQs from the 3D model • Initiate and participate in design peer reviews • Ensure internal quality procedures are followed • Keep up to date with industry developments with respect to own discipline and appreciate the basic technical principles and drivers of other disciplines BIM Software Expertise: • BIM model setup • Model linking procedures • BIM modeling concepts and workflows • Copy/Monitor procedures • Worksharing and workset management • Family creation (parametric and non parametric) • View setup and browser organization • View templates • Visibility/Graphics overrides • Tagging and annotation procedures • Sheet creation and management • Schedule creation and management • BIM parameters and Reinforcement procedures • Navisworks export Key Competencies / Skills: Mandatory Skills • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. • Experience delivering international projects across all stages, from concept to construction. • Strong working knowledge of BIM software packages such as Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD. • Ability to produce detailed drawings (plans, sections, details) from engineers’ sketches. • Excellent proficiency in Revit (2019 and above), including electical services modeling, family/content creation, coordination with structural and MEP elements, schedules, worksets/links/visibilities, sheet setup, and collaboration. • Dynamic, self-motivated professional focused on timely delivery and technical excellence. • Experience with ‘MagiCAD for AutoCAD’ and ‘MagiCAD for Revit’ is an added advantage. • Good understanding of lighting & power calculations, cable and containment sizing etc.. • Good understanding of Fire alarm & Emergency lighting systems, ELV systems such as Telecom, Security etc is an added advantage. • Knowledge of electrical equipment selection (Transforments, DG’s, LV swithboards, etc.). • Familiarity with technical tools such as Dialux Evo, Amtech, Relux software preferred. • Excellent command of written and verbal English, with strong technical terminology. Desired Skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project. • Membership in accredited engineering bodies (e.g., BIM societies, IET, CIBSE etc.). • Familiarity with European Building Codes & Standards. • Commitment to achieving EngTech professional license. • Strong management and technical skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively. • Punctuality and ability to meet deadlines. Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering • Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience • Experience of MS Office Suite of Programs • Comprehensive experience of technical design and associated discipline software.
