This is an onsite position, 5 days/week, in the Vadodara office working the MID SHIFT. Hours are 2pm-11pm IST. Remote applicants will not be considered. The Opportunity The Manager of DevOps Engineering plays a critical role in the company’s software development lifecycle by managing and leading a team of DevOps engineers to develop and maintain platforms, tools, processes, and services that are critical to the success of R&D and infrastructure teams for the Credible platform. This role has direct interaction with team members from many departments including Architecture, Research and Development, and IT Operations. As a manager, you will operate as a player‑coach, balancing hands‑on technical contribution with people leadership and team development to guide the team in researching, designing, implementing, and deploying new technologies that support our platform and development tools with the goal of enabling teams to deliver high‑quality changes to users quickly, safely, and reliably. This role requires a high degree of independence, sound judgment, and accountability for team outcomes. Our DevOps team will encourage and promote industry best practices for software development and delivery, establish and promote a continuous improvement mindset, and facilitate the shifting left of code integration, security scanning, application testing, and operations team involvement in software delivery. This role reports to the Senior Manager of DevOps Engineering. Responsibilities - Manage and supervise the team’s daily activities to ensure efficient and effective execution of projects, team support, and platform maintenance activities. - Lead and facilitate team scrum ceremonies such as daily standups, backlog grooming, sprint planning, sprint retrospectives, and sprint review meetings. - Coordinate and collaborate across departments for prioritization and planning of project support. - Lead continuous improvement efforts by designing and analyzing data captured from daily activities related to security vulnerabilities, code quality, and build/release activities. - Lead orchestration of activities during incidents, assisting both technically and through effective communication mechanisms. - Collaborate with other DevOps leaders in planning work, setting team priorities, and defining roadmap items. - Ensure the team develops and adheres to defined standards and best practices. - Measure team performance, conduct regular feedback and performance discussions, and communicate team metrics to the Senior DevOps Manager. - Coach, mentor, and develop DevOps engineers, with a focus on growing junior team members and supporting career development. - Participate as needed in sprint work while maintaining primary accountability for team delivery, quality, and sustainability. - Oversee the design and building of automated solutions for provisioning infrastructure, configuration of resources, and deployment of software solutions, contributing directly when needed. - Propose, develop, and train team members on improvements to processes, tooling, and automation. - Ensure effective support for scrum teams on complex tasks requiring detailed research and troubleshooting. - Generate automated solutions for use by scrum teams and technical operations team members in day‑to‑day activities. - Provide systems and infrastructure perspective to solution architects, software developers, and quality assurance teams during solution design and implementation. - Conduct tool evaluations, perform proof‑of‑concepts, and propose solutions to new and existing activities. - Collaborate with system administrators to provide expertise and technical support, including hands‑on efforts to ensure proposed technology implementations are viable. - Work closely with software engineering and system administrators to ensure successful rollout of software solutions. - Ensure deployments of solutions to internal environments and continuous hardening of artifact deployment processes. - Configure, deploy, monitor, and support tools related to the SDLC process. - Ensure monitoring, incident response, and troubleshooting processes are effective and sustainable to keep systems highly available and performing optimally. - Act as a primary driver and point of accountability for cross‑team DevOps initiatives, collaborating with both internal and external partners to coordinate efforts. - Represent the DevOps team in cross‑functional planning, escalation, and strategic discussions. Qualifications - 4+ years of experience as a system administrator, software developer, or DevOps engineer - 2+ years of people management, team leadership, or formal supervisory experience. - 2+ years working with Microsoft based technologies. - Advanced English level. - Exceptional ability to foster collaboration and communication within cross‑functional teams. - Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and manage a team of DevOps engineers effectively, including experience mentoring junior engineers and leading through influence. - Ability to develop and execute strategic plans for DevOps initiatives aligned with business goals. - Skill in building and developing high‑performing DevOps teams through mentorship and coaching. - Ability to manage and prioritize stakeholder relationships to ensure alignment and support. - Skill in implementing and managing organizational change effectively. - Proficiency in monitoring and optimizing the performance of DevOps processes and systems. - Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with DevOps initiatives and processes. - Commitment to continuous improvement and fostering a culture of learning and innovation within the team. Technical Skills - Advanced knowledge of Agile/Scrum principles and the ability to effectively implement them. - Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and grow junior team members over time. - Proficiency in creating clear and concise technical documentation for systems, processes, and procedures. - Ability to plan and facilitate internal training and knowledge sharing initiatives. - Advanced skills in diagnosing and resolving complex issues across the development and operations stack. - Commitment to continuous learning, improvement, and fostering a growth mindset within the team. - Ability to build, deploy, monitor, and support web based applications, including traditional web applications and cloud‑based solutions. - Advanced knowledge of continuous integration and the ability to implement it. - Advanced knowledge of infrastructure as code and the ability to implement it. - Advanced knowledge of configuration as code and the ability to implement it. - Advanced knowledge of configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc. - Advanced experience administering and managing complex systems, including Linux and Windows environments. - Experience developing and deploying scalable and resilient applications. - Strong understanding of cloud‑based computing concepts. - Experience with database technologies such as SQL Server and MongoDB. - Experience with Git‑based source control tools such as GitLab and GitHub. - Knowledge of Service‑Oriented Architecture (SOA) and ideally Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions. - Experience with monitoring tools such as Zabbix, New Relic, Dynatrace, etc. Nice to Have - 2+ years working on systems related to healthcare solutions. - Certifications in System Administration, Continuous Integration, Security, or DevOps‑related concepts and tools. - Experience with the Azure DevOps platform for automation, source control, and collaboration. - Experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code. - Experience working with virtualization technologies (VMWare, KVM, or similar). - Proven knowledge and experience using API, SOAP, WSDL, JSON, and XML‑based solutions. - Experience with Windows operating system usage and administration.
