ELL's platform team builds and evolves the digital products that serve this global audience. **Role Overview** We are looking for an experienced and curious Advanced Specialist in Product Management to join the Platform team within ELL. This is an individual-contributor role: you will own meaningful parts of the product backlog, work closely with engineering and design, and help evolve the learning management system (LMS) that serves our institutional and corporate customers worldwide. The ideal candidate brings solid B2B product management experience, a user-centric mindset, and the technical fluency needed to collaborate confidently with engineers. You will report directly to the Team Manager, Platform Product (ELL). **Key Responsibilities** **1. Champion Customer Needs** * Develop a deep understanding of institutional and corporate customer needs through research, data, and direct engagement. * Translate customer insights into clearly defined problems and prioritised opportunities. * Define and track relevant KPIs to measure the impact of product changes on customer experience. * Advocate for the user throughout the product development cycle. **2. Product Development and Backlog Management** * Define, refine, and prioritise product features and enhancements, balancing customer value, business goals, and technical feasibility. * Write clear, concise user stories and acceptance criteria that engineering and design can act on without ambiguity. * Maintain a well-groomed section of the product roadmap, keeping stakeholders informed of progress and trade-offs. * Collaborate with engineering, design, and QA to deliver high-quality, on-time releases. **3. Platform Improvement** * Partner with engineering to identify and address friction in user journeys across the LMS platform. * Contribute to initiatives that improve the underlying systems architecture, supporting faster and more reliable delivery. * Ensure that product changes integrate smoothly with existing services and minimise disruption to live users. **4. Stakeholder Engagement** * Communicate product plans, progress, and decisions clearly to cross-functional partners and senior stakeholders. * Gather and synthesise feedback from internal teams, customers, and market data to sharpen product direction. * Build productive working relationships with peers in engineering, design, marketing, and customer success. **5. Agile Practice** * Participate actively in agile ceremonies-sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives. * Work with the Scrum Master and team lead to improve delivery processes and team productivity. * Bring an agile, iterative mindset to problem-solving: test assumptions early and learn fast. **Ideal Attributes and Qualifications** * Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. * 7+ years of product management experience, ideally in a B2B or SaaS environment. * Proven ability to own a product area end-to-end: discovery, definition, delivery, and iteration. * Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; able to explain complex ideas simply. * Solid understanding of agile frameworks and hands-on experience working in agile teams. * Analytical approach to decision-making: comfortable with data, metrics, and ambiguity. * Technical fluency sufficient to engage meaningfully with engineering on architecture and feasibility questions. * Experience in the education sector or with learning management systems is a plus. **What We Offer** * Competitive salary and benefits package. * Meaningful work: direct contribution to products used by millions of English learners worldwide. * Opportunities for professional growth within a global product organisation. * A collaborative, inclusive environment that values curiosity and continuous improvement.
