BI Developer

Job Title: BI Developer Experience: 3–5 Years Location: AICC Pune Required Skills & Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field’ Experience: 3-5 years in BI, data analytics, or reporting roles. Contract - 6 Months on Contract Role Description: looking for a BI Developer to drive data and analytics initiatives by delivering scalable, high-performance BI solutions. This role requires strong expertise in Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Tableau, SQL and the ability to collaborate with business stakeholders across commercial, operations, supply chain, and finance functions. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and deliver BI solutions using Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Dataflows Gen2, Warehouse) and Power BI, ensuring accurate and business-ready insights. - Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define KPIs, and translate them into scalable BI solutions. - Design, develop, and optimize semantic models (DAX, aggregations, star schema) for performance and scalability. - Work on migration of Tableau reports to Power BI, ensuring data accuracy and consistency in business logic. - Maintain and enhance existing Tableau dashboards during the transition, ensuring business continuity and support. - Work closely with data engineering teams to consume curated data from bronze, silver, and gold layers. - Drive UAT activities, including validation of dashboards, defect tracking, and quality metrics reporting. - Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and Git for Power BI deployments. - Monitor dataset refreshes and report performance, troubleshoot data and visualization issues. - Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and manage workspace access. - Ensure data quality, governance, and consistency across reporting layers. Technical Skills - Strong expertise in Power BI (Desktop & Service) with advanced visualization capabilities. - Solid experience in Tableau (development, visualization, maintenance, and migration scenarios). Exposure to LOD expressions, table calculations, parameters, actions, and optimized data models. - Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Dataflows Gen2, Fabric pipelines, Warehouse, Notebook – Spark SQL). - Strong proficiency in SQL (joins, CTEs, window functions, performance tuning). - Experience with Azure Data Services (Data Factory, Azure SQL). - Strong understanding of data modelling concepts, semantic layer optimization, and KPI design. - Experience with CI/CD and version control (Azure DevOps, Git, deployment pipelines). - Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL/ELT concepts. - Demonstrate working knowledge of AI‑enabled BI tools (e.g., Power BI Copilot, Tableau GPT, ThoughtSpot AI) to accelerate report creation, insight discovery, and natural‑language querying. · Effectively utilizes generative AI tools (e.g., Azure Copilot, ChatGPT) to assist with SQL development, DAX optimization, documentation, and data analysis workflows while maintaining data governance standards. Functional Skills - Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. · Strong analytical mindset to understand complex existing implementations and drive optimizations. - Strong focus on security best practices across data pipelines and platforms. - Ability to collaborate with cross-functional technical teams (commercial, operations, finance, supply chain) and drive results. - Experienced in Agile development practices and sprint‑based delivery. · Adept at utilizing AI tools to enhance data modeling, automate insights, and scale business intelligence solutions. · Good to Have - Exposure to manufacturing or industrial domain analytics. - Experience with Python / PySpark Notebooks in Fabric or Azure. - Knowledge of Databricks or big data ecosystems. - Familiarity with data governance and compliance frameworks.
