DBA Developer

Job Description – PostgreSQL DBA / MongoDB DBA Experience - 1–3 Years Location - Hyderabad Role Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Database Administrator with strong expertise in PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB database administration. The ideal candidate will be responsible for database administration, high availability, backup and recovery, security, and operational support of mission-critical database environments. Experience with distributed databases such as YugabyteDB will be an added advantage. Key Responsibilities Database Administration - Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB environments. - Manage database health, availability, performance, and capacity planning. - Perform database migrations, refreshes, and environment provisioning. - Administer database users, roles, permissions, and security policies. - Ensure compliance with organizational security and audit requirements. High Availability & Disaster Recovery - Configure and manage replication technologies. - Manage clustering, failover, and disaster recovery solutions. - Perform backup and recovery operations and conduct recovery drills. - Ensure database resiliency and business continuity. Performance & Optimization - Monitor and optimize database performance. - Analyze query execution plans and recommend tuning strategies. - Optimize indexes, database objects, and configurations. - Troubleshoot database bottlenecks and production incidents. Monitoring & Automation - Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and reporting solutions. - Automate routine DBA tasks using scripts and tools. - Develop operational runbooks and standard procedures. Production Support - Provide L2 support for production environments. - Participate in on-call support and incident management. - Ensure SLA adherence and timely issue resolution. Mandatory Skills PostgreSQL Administration - Strong experience in PostgreSQL administration. - Expertise in: - Replication (Streaming, Logical Replication) - Backup and Recovery (pgBackRest, WAL management) - Performance Tuning - Partitioning - HA solutions such as EDB EFM, Patroni, Pgpool-II, etc. - Experience with Linux operating systems. MongoDB administration(optional) - Strong experience in MongoDB administration. - Expertise in: - Replica Sets - Sharding - Backup and Recovery - Query and Index Optimization - Security and Authentication - Performance Monitoring and Troubleshooting Preferred / Optional Skills Distributed Databases (Preferred) - Experience with YugabyteDB administration. - Understanding of distributed SQL architecture. - Cluster deployment, scaling, replication, and troubleshooting. SQL Development (Optional) - Strong SQL and query optimization skills. - Experience in developing stored procedures, functions, and database scripts. DevOps & Automation (Optional) - Experience with: - CI/CD pipelines - Git/GitHub/GitLab - Jenkins, Azure DevOps - Ansible or Terraform - Infrastructure automation and configuration management. Programming/Scripting (Optional) Knowledge of one or more: - Python - Shell Scripting - PowerShell Desired Skills - Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities. - Experience managing databases in cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP). - Knowledge of container technologies (Docker/Kubernetes) is a plus. - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. - Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
