Environment Planner/Expert BID SYSTRA, a global leader in engineering and consulting for public transport and mobility solutions, is actively bidding for Urban Planning projects across India . We are seeking a highly skilled Environment Planner/Expert to fill a key position in these bids. SYSTRA India's comprehensive experience spans the entire project lifecycle for mass rapid transit systems, including railways, metros, roads, buildings, and water & environment infrastructure. Missions/Main Duties As an Environment Planner/Expert, your responsibilities will include: - Developing strategies for sustainable urban growth with minimal environmental impact. - Planning green corridors, parks, and biodiversity conservation areas to improve urban resilience. - Promoting nature-based solutions such as urban forests, wetlands restoration, and green roofs. - Assessing climate risks like flooding, heatwaves, and air pollution, and integrating adaptation measures. - Designing flood management strategies , including stormwater drainage and flood-resistant infrastructure. - Conducting Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) for proposed infrastructure and development projects. - Ensuring compliance with national and international environmental regulations . - Developing strategies for pollution control , including air, water, and soil quality management. - Planning for sustainable water management , including rainwater harvesting, wastewater treatment, and groundwater recharge. - Designing waste reduction and recycling strategies to achieve a circular economy. - Promoting eco-friendly solid waste management systems such as composting and waste-to-energy technologies. - Promoting energy-efficient building codes and green certification for infrastructure. - Encouraging sustainable mobility solutions like electric vehicles (EVs) and non-motorized transport (NMT). - Using GIS and remote sensing to map environmental risks, green spaces, and pollution levels. - Monitoring key environmental indicators , such as air quality index (AQI) and water quality metrics. Profile/Skills - Education: Post Graduate Degree in Environmental Planning/Engineering/Science. - Experience: At least 5 years of experience in the environmental planning field. - Should have relevant experience in similar works and/or Environment plans, Environment Management Plans, and EIAs (at least 2 projects completed) . - Should be conversant with National and Rajasthan State Environment Policies .
