Software asset management

Key Responsibilities: Maintain and update the software asset inventory (licenses, installations, entitlements) Reconcile purchased licenses against actual deployment/usage data Assist with software license compliance audits (internal and vendor-initiated) Track software contract renewal dates and support renewal/negotiation prep Help identify unused or underused licenses to reduce costs Support onboarding/offboarding processes related to software provisioning and deprovisioning Maintain documentation for SAM policies, procedures, and the CMDB (configuration management database) Collaborate with IT procurement, legal, and security teams on license terms and usage rights Generate reports on license utilization, spend, and compliance status Manage the procurement of telecommunications and colocation services. Evaluate telecom vendor bids, negotiate contracts, analyze costs, and maintain inventory. Required Qualifications 5 years' experience in IT, asset management, procurement, or related field Bachelor's degree in IT, business, or equivalent experience Basic understanding of software licensing models (per-user, per-device, subscription, concurrent) Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets; familiarity with databases a plus Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Good communication skills for cross-team coordination Industry knowledge of telecom environments Preferred / Nice to Have Exposure to ITAM/SAM tools (Flexera, Snow, ServiceNow) Knowledge of common vendor licensing (Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle, SAP)
