Job Purpose: This role is important for ensuring availability & maintenance of Linux infrastructure. Involves supporting the administration of Linux servers & systems, ensuring their optimal performance & security. Monitor system performance & perform routine maintenance & testing tasks while adhering to security procedures & policies and ensuring adherence to Service Level Agreements. Responsibilities Linux Infrastructure Management: Assist in managing and maintaining Linux infrastructure. Linux Server Administration: Support the administration of Linux servers, ensuring availability, performance, and security. System Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor system performance and availability, performing regular maintenance tasks to ensure optimal operation of Linux environments. Incident and Service Request Support: Provide support for Linux-related incidents and service requests, escalating issues as needed for timely resolution. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting steps.Generate reports on system performance and health metrics. Security Compliance and Best Practices: Implement and adhere to security policies, procedures, and best practices for Linux environments, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Cross-Functional Coordination: Work collaboratively with network engineers, system administrators, and other IT teams to ensure integrated and efficient operations of Linux systems. Change Management in Linux Environments: Assist in managing changes to Linux environments through rigorous testing, coordination, and documentation to minimize risks and disruptions. Digital mindset: Champions a digital mindset within the organization to drive innovation and competitiveness. Keep up with digital and AI advancements to enhance business and maintain competitiveness. Key Stakeholders - Internal: DC Operations team Managed Services team Chief Info Security Officer Network Ops team Key Stakeholders - External: Client Partners (service, IT infra & OEM suppliers) Qualifications Education: Bachelor or master degree in computer science or computer engineering or information technology or information systems. Preferred Certification(s): RedHat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) / CCNA / VCP Experience: 1-6 8-12 yrs years of hands-on experience in supporting Linux systems within a data center or IT infrastructure environment. Understanding of Linux operating systems (RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.) & knowledge of scripting language (Bash, PowerShell) for automation & task execution. Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
