Backend Automation Engineer (Automation | Azure | Node.js | TypeScript | Playwright Testing) Location: Vidhyavihar (West), Mumbai (Work from Office) Shift Timing: 11:00 AM – 9:30 PM (9 working hours a day - 5 days a week) Joining preference: Immediate Joiner Placement Type: Full Time Permanent position About the Role: We are hiring a QA Automation Engineer (with 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience) who is highly skilled in writing automated tests and validating backend systems through code. This is a developer-style QA role that requires strong understanding of APIs, backend architecture, TypeScript, Playwright, GitHub Actions and other automation frameworks. You will work closely with backend developers and DevOps to ensure code quality through automated test suites and verify the performance and correctness of our backend systems. You will also support E2E automated test development to ensure happy path user actions have no regressions as new features get developed and released. Tech Stack: Languages & Frameworks: TypeScript, Node.js, Fastify, Nx Testing Frameworks: Unit: Vitest, React Testing Library Integration testing: Vitest , Node test environment, Docker Compose E2E testing: Azure Playwright Load / performance testing: JMeter Test orchestration: Nx, Nx plugins Database: Azure Cosmos DB CI/CD: GitHub Actions Cloud: Azure Environment, Azure App Service, Azure Functions Key Responsibilities: Write automated test cases for E2E tests using Azure Playwright + React Testing Library that focus on user-driven flows Ensure automated test harness and infrastructure successfully complete tests that connect Redis, CosmosDB, backend services, and frontend servers. Support Dev-Ops in monitoring and validating test success before releasing new features to prod Build load tests using Jmeter to evaluate system performance Collaborate with developers to ensure testability, code quality, and CI-driven releases Create reusable mocking and stubbing utilities for services and external integrations Ensure strong test coverage for critical business modules Required Skills: 2–5 years of experience in backend engineering or DevOps roles Knowledge of Node.js & TypeScript (must be able to write code) Experience writing tests with Vitest, Playwright Good knowledge of NoSQL (Cosmos DB preferred) Experience with GitHub actions Experience with CI/CD pipelines and running automated test suites Ability to read, understand, and validate developer code Comfortable debugging issues in logs, APIs, and backend services Ideal Candidate Traits: Thinks like a developer, tests like a QA Strong at identifying edge cases and logic gaps Loves clean, modular, maintainable test code Can validate performance, reliability, and correctness of backend logic Passion for automation over manual testing
