ServiceNow Developer (ITAM / ITOM)

Job Description: ServiceNow Developer (ITAM / ITOM) Role Overview The ServiceNow Developer will deliver solutions across IT Asset Management, ITOM, CMDB, Discovery, and Service Mapping. This role is responsible for hands‑on configuration, scripting, integrations, and platform enhancement activities while ensuring alignment with architectural and control requirements. The developer will work across full lifecycle delivery—analysis, build, testing, deployment, and documentation. Essential Skills / Basic Qualifications - Hands‑on experience with ServiceNow ITOM Development including Discovery and CMDB. - Hands‑on experience with Service Mapping, automated discovery, updating discovery patterns, and troubleshooting patterns. - Good understanding of network fundamentals, design, and architecture. - Provide software coding and customisation including: - Discovery custom probes/sensors - Discovery patterns - Data imports - Integrations - Scripting - Third‑party software integrations - Ability to plan, execute, monitor, control, and close all technical tasks related to ServiceNow configuration and implementation. - Ability to update and maintain testing protocols for ServiceNow upgrades to certify all applications post‑upgrade. - Coordinate and solve complex technical data and transformation issues. - Obtain, analyse, and interpret business requirements to propose sustainable ServiceNow solutions. - Answer 'how‑to' technical and application configuration questions. - Create and maintain system design and operations documentation. - Working experience of ServiceNow development, product lifecycle, reporting, and Performance Analytics. Desirable Skills / Preferred Qualifications - Understanding of ITIL and ITSM processes. - Experience with CMDB and IT Asset Management. - Hands‑on experience developing ServiceNow SAM Professional or similar SAM toolsets. - Hands‑on experience developing ServiceNow HAM Professional or similar HAM toolsets. - Exposure to Vendor Contract Management. - Knowledge of governance, risk, and control frameworks. Key Responsibilities - Build, customise, and enhance features across ITAM, ITOM, ITSM, Discovery, CMDB, and Service Mapping. - Develop integrations, scripted REST APIs, Transform Maps, data loads, and automation workflows. - Implement Discovery probes, sensors, and pattern customisations aligned to architectural standards. - Perform unit testing, support SIT/UAT cycles, and maintain regression scripts aligned to platform upgrades. - Troubleshoot platform and module issues, support root‑cause analysis, and implement remediation steps. - Create technical design documentation, solution diagrams, and support architecture reviews. - Collaborate with BAs, architects, testers, and MSP/vendor teams to ensure delivery alignment. - Ensure adherence to governance, risk, security, and audit requirements across development.
