We are Sisco Jobs, a recruitment consultancy based in Trichy, Tamil Nadu. We are hiring on behalf of our client for the position of Cable Systems & Power Systems Engineer in Trichy, Tamil Nadu . Our client is a reputed organization supporting UK grid infrastructure and is seeking skilled, motivated professionals with strong experience in HV cable systems and power-system engineering. Key Responsibilities - Perform HV cable sizing and steady-state/emergency cyclic rating studies for buried, ducted, tunnel, trough and above-ground cable installations. - Develop cable-system design bases, route engineering inputs, installation arrangements, pulling/tension checks, joint-bay requirements and termination requirements. - Design sheath bonding, cross-bonding, earthing and link-box arrangements and assess induced voltages, electromagnetic effects and losses. - Specify HV power cables, joints, terminations, link boxes, fibre/monitoring provisions and associated accessories. - Undertake or support load-flow, short-circuit, voltage, reactive-power, harmonic, insulation-coordination and earthing studies. - Define engineering study assumptions, models, operating scenarios and acceptance criteria and clearly document results, limitations and recommendations. - Coordinate cable interfaces with substations, overhead lines, civil works, protection, telecoms and construction teams. - Review manufacturer calculations, drawings and technical data while supporting bid evaluation, installation, testing, commissioning and fault investigation. Required Skills - HV/EHV Cable Engineering: Strong hands-on knowledge of HV cable systems, preferably XLPE systems at 132 kV and above. - Cable Rating: Practical application of IEC 60287 and IEC 60853 for steady-state, emergency and cyclic cable-rating calculations. - Bonding & Earthing: Strong understanding of sheath bonding, cross-bonding, earthing, induced sheath voltages and electromagnetic effects. - Cable Rating Software: Hands-on capability with CYMCAP or an equivalent recognized cable-rating package. - Power-System Analysis: Practical experience with ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSS/E or equivalent for load flow, fault-level, voltage/reactive-power and related studies. Preferred Skills - Transmission-voltage XLPE cable-system experience at 132 kV and above. - Familiarity with relevant IEC, BS/EN and ENA engineering practices. - Postgraduate specialization in power systems or high-voltage engineering. Work Experience Requirements Candidates must have 8–12 years of relevant professional experience in cable systems and/or power-system studies, with substantial hands-on responsibility and direct ownership of engineering deliverables. Experience should include high-voltage power, transmission, substations, utilities or directly comparable critical infrastructure. Candidates should demonstrate experience coordinating civil, route and substation interfaces and reviewing manufacturer engineering data. Education Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering Preferred: Postgraduate study in Power Systems or High-Voltage Engineering
