Senior Product Engineer-Automation

This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Salary range: Rs 1300000 - Rs 2200000 (ie INR 13-22 LPA) Experience: 5+ yrs Location: Bengaluru Job Type: full-time We are seeking an experienced Java Backend Developer to design, develop, and scale high-performance backend systems for modern cloud-based applications. This role involves building robust microservices, developing RESTful APIs, and contributing to the architecture of scalable distributed systems. You will work closely with product, engineering, and cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, secure, and high-quality solutions in a fast-paced Agile environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about backend engineering, cloud technologies, and building systems that can handle large-scale workloads while maintaining performance, reliability, and maintainability. Requirements Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring-based technologies. - Build and enhance RESTful APIs and microservices-driven applications. - Develop and support cloud-native solutions deployed on AWS. - Collaborate with product managers, architects, and engineering teams to deliver business-critical features. - Design and optimize database interactions across relational and NoSQL systems. - Implement containerized applications using Docker and modern deployment practices. - Participate in system design discussions, architecture reviews, and technical decision-making. - Ensure code quality through code reviews, testing, version control, and engineering best practices. - Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production and application-level issues. - Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within Agile development teams. What Makes You a Great Fit - 5+ years of experience in Java backend development. - Strong expertise in Java 8, Spring Boot, and enterprise application development. - Hands-on experience building Microservices and distributed systems. - Strong knowledge of REST API design, development, and integration. - Experience working with messaging and event-driven architectures using Kafka. - Good understanding of AWS cloud services and cloud-native application development. - Experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server. - Familiarity with Docker and containerization technologies. - Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills. - Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments. - Ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
