Role Summary. The SAP Data Migration Governance Lead will be responsible for establishing and driving the governance framework, controls, quality processes, reporting mechanisms, and stakeholder alignment for large scale SAP transformation programs. The role ensures that migration activities are executed with strong governance, auditability, data quality controls, and compliance standards while enabling successful and timely delivery of SAP implementations and rollouts. The individual will act as the bridge between Business Data Owners, Functional Teams, Data Migration Teams, Program Leadership, and external stakeholders to ensure data readiness, signoffs, risk mitigation, and migration success. Key Responsibilities. Data Migration Governance and Strategy. Define and implement the overall Data Migration Governance Framework across SAP transformation programs. Establish migration standards, policies, controls, procedures, and operating models. Define governance structure including Data Owners, Data Stewards, Functional Leads, and Approvers. Drive migration readiness reviews, governance forums, and steering committee updates. Data Quality Governance. Define data quality KPIs, thresholds, and acceptance criteria. Govern data profiling, cleansing, remediation, and reconciliation processes. Monitor quality trends and ensure timely resolution of data issues and defects. Establish audit ready validation and sign off mechanisms. Scope and Change Governance. Govern migration object scope, waves, releases, and deployment strategies. Manage scope changes, impact assessments, and governance approvals. Ensure alignment between business requirements and migration deliverables. Stakeholder and Business Engagement. Collaborate with Business Process Owners, Functional Leads, Data Owners, and Program Leadership. Drive business accountability for data quality and migration readiness. Facilitate governance workshops, decision forums, and executive reporting. Migration Reporting and Controls. Establish end to end migration dashboards and governance reports. Track migration progress across data design, mapping, cleansing, load cycles, validations, and cutover. Publish executive level status reports covering risks, issues, quality metrics, and readiness indicators. Ensure transparency through governance scorecards and KPIs. Mock Cycles and Load Governance. Govern mock conversions, test migrations, dress rehearsals, and production cutover activities. Ensure pre load and post load validations are completed and approved. Track defect management and closure prior to subsequent migration cycles. Coordinate business sign offs for data loads and reconciliations. Risk, Compliance and Audit Management. Identify migration risks and define mitigation plans. Ensure compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and audit standards. Maintain traceability of migration decisions, approvals, and sign offs. Support internal and external audits related to data migration activities. Cutover and Hypercare Governance. Drive governance during cutover planning and execution. Monitor migration command center activities during go live. Ensure smooth transition to hypercare and post go live stabilization. Track closure of migration related defects and reconciliation exceptions. Required Skills and Expertise. SAP Data Migration. Strong experience in SAP ECC and or SAP S4HANA transformation programs. Deep understanding of end to end SAP Data Migration lifecycle. Knowledge of migration methodologies, mock cycles, cutover planning, and reconciliation. Governance and Data Quality. Experience establishing Data Governance and Migration Governance frameworks. Strong understanding of data quality management, stewardship, and accountability models. Experience defining KPIs, dashboards, metrics, and reporting structures. Tools and Technologies. SAP Migration Cockpit LTMC LTMOM. SAP MDG. SAP BODS SAP Data Services. SAP Information Steward preferred. Excel, Power BI, Smartsheet, Reporting Platforms. Leadership and Stakeholder Management. Experience leading global, cross functional migration workstreams. Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to influence business and IT leadership teams. Expectations. Own governance, controls, and reporting for the complete data migration lifecycle. Drive business accountability for data quality and migration readiness. Ensure zero critical defects attributable to governance lapses. Deliver audit ready migration documentation and approvals. Provide proactive visibility of risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigation actions. Foster a culture of data ownership, governance compliance, and continuous improvement. Enable successful SAP deployments through structured governance and decision making.
