Job Description

Job Description: The candidate will support day-to-day accounting activities, reconciliations, AP/AR, VAT-related documentation, financial reporting, and month-end closing activities. Key Responsibilities - Maintain accurate books of accounts and financial records. - Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) transactions. - Process sales/purchase invoices, receipts, payments and expenses. - Perform bank, customer and vendor reconciliations. - Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger records. - Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities. - Prepare basic financial reports, schedules and MIS reports. - Assist with VAT documentation and compliance. - Maintain proper accounting documents and records for audit purposes. - Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation. - Coordinate with clients, vendors and internal teams regarding accounting queries. - Ensure accounting transactions are recorded accurately and on time. - Assist with petty cash, expense claims and payment processing. Required Skills - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field. - 6 months to 2 years of relevant accounting experience. - Good understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping. - Knowledge of Gulf/GCC accounting practices is preferred. - Basic knowledge of UAE VAT / GCC VAT; Saudi candidates should ideally have exposure to ZATCA/e-invoicing. - Hands-on experience with Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho, Odoo, SAP, Oracle or similar accounting software. - Good knowledge of MS Excel – VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables and basic formulas preferred. - Good English communication skills, both written and verbal. - Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn. Preferred Candidate Profile - Candidates with experience in UAE/GCC accounting, VAT, AP/AR, bank reconciliation, bookkeeping and ERP/accounting software will be preferred. - For a 6-month-to-2-year profile, UAE/GCC experience is useful but shouldn't necessarily be made mandatory unless the client specifically requires it. - Current junior Gulf postings commonly accept roughly 1–2 years and focus on these core accounting activities.
